RoShonda Adams-Simmons
Founder & Executive Director
Roshonda Adams Simmons is the Founder and Executive Director of Melodies of Colors, a Christ-centered nonprofit organization empowering African American girls and women in Memphis, Tennessee who have survived trauma—including sexual, physical, emotional, and mental abuse, bullying, and grief.
A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, entrepreneur, and courageous survivor, Roshonda’s personal journey through trauma, loss, and restoration became the foundation for this powerful movement.
Launched in July 2023, Flourish to Freedom was created from Roshonda’s lived experience and unwavering faith, offering healing-centered programs such as support series, liturgical dance workshops, self-defense training, financial literacy education, and advocacy initiatives. While not a licensed counselor, Roshonda ensures ethical and holistic care by partnering with qualified professionals to provide counseling, therapy, and additional support services.
Guided by God and rooted in love, Roshonda walks boldly in her God-given purpose—creating safe spaces where survivors can heal, rebuild, and thrive beyond trauma.
